BLACK – WATER

Economic hegemony and military power are in many regards two sides of the same coin; the latter of which I explore in BLACK – WATER, a project developed in Kuwait and Afghanistan in 2015, embedded with the US military. BLACK – WATER attempts to draw the connections between seemingly disparate cultural phenomena in a post 9/11 world, examining the architecture and sociology of military bases, and the tensions between surveillance and control, and the freedoms we hold dear.
