Ana Cuba

Ana Cuba was born in 1989 and grew up in Zaragoza, Spain. After graduating in Audiovisual Communication at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, she moved to London, where she has been working as a Photo Editor and freelance photographer since 2011. Today we share her series The Third Wheel

The Third Wheel

This project tells the story of a trip I took with my best friend and her partner at the time to LA and San Francisco. It was at a time I really felt the need to get away from London, and the opportunity to join them came up, so I became the official third wheel of their trip together for two weeks.

However, the project took proper form months after coming back, once my friends had already broke up. I had lots of pictures that I wanted to put together in a way that it wasn’t a regular travel diary, and with their love story having finished, I realised I could do an edit as a sort of tribute to their relationship, and my own interpretation of their problematics as a couple, that I experienced while spending time with them.
