Sophie Barbasch is a photographer based in New York City. She earned her MFA in photography from the Rhode Island School of Design and her BA in Art and Art History from Brown University. Today we share her series, Queen City of the Plains.

Queen City of the Plains
When I arrived in Nebraska City for a residency at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center, I immediately observed differences in scale, light, and sound. I spent a lot of time imagining a different kind of life and wondering what it would mean to grow up in this place. I loved going to football games, car shows and parades, as well as exploring the quiet storefronts on main street.
