Meagan Connolly is primarily a fine art and documentary photographer based out of Brooklyn, New York. She received her B.F.A. from Savannah College of Art and Design in May 2015. Her work explores the physical representation of metaphysical concepts and belief systems, as well as other fictions of every day life. Meagan was recently selected to showcase work in the “30 Under 30” exhibition at the Vermont Center for Photography, and has exhibited work both locally and internationally. Today we share her images of New York.

Only in a city that’s constantly moving can we recognize the importance in stopping, in allowing the stillness and silence to resonate, and to revel in our own brief solitude. This sacred isolation is kept within ourselves to use as a balm to coat the constant bereavement of the city. As physical distance inevitably wanes, we create caverns of our own minds, and solitude evolves into a state of being to weave in and out of. Our detachment ebbs and flows to echo the rivers that surround us.
