Bossi Baker

Bossi Baker was born in Arkansas in 1981 and educated at the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia. He lives in Los Angeles, where he works as a digital colorist for films and visual media. As a filmmaker, his short films have screened internationally, and his most recent film premiered at the Sitges Film Festival in Sitges, Spain in 2015. In 2015 he began a photographic project, documenting the south-western United States. The photographs are the result of aimless wanderings, and an attempt at profiling the contemporary, often mundane profile of a place.

The Western Profile

My photos are the result of aimless wanderings, and an attempt at chronicling the mundane, searching for light, color, shape, and scenery, with prejudice towards moments of stillness and emptiness, along with the contemporary profile of the place. The format, and the technical and practical aspects of the photo are important to me, but never more than the content of the image.

The photos I'm sharing, and most of my work over the last two years, is culled from my weeks wandering over empty backroads through California, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Colorado, Texas and Arkansas.
