Between The Devil and The City
Between the Devil and The City is an investigation into boyhood, rites of passage, loss, and the eventuality of death. Stemming from an anxiety of societal pressures brought on by aging and a fear of mediocrity, I use photography as a tool to explore masculinity, Christianity, and poetry.
Having not lived in the area for an extended amount of time, I have returned to and use Southern New Jersey as my backdrop. This is home. This is where I am from. But I feel completely dislocated from this place.
