Manuel is a photographer, born 1993 in a small town in the alpine foothills of Southern Germany. Through skateboarding he was quickly fascinated in photography and filming by a young age. In 2013 he collaborated with Diesel and released a limited edition print tee + he got his first solo exhibition of his works in Cologne, Germany. He is now based in Munich, Germany, where he’s studying photography at the University of Applied Sciences. This series was shot during 10 days in Clearwater, Florida, USA (+23°C) & Mankota, Sasketchewan, CAN (-23°C) in December 2016.
The rapid change of temperature apparently caused/triggered so called Raynaud’s disease at my hands. It’s not dangerous but it does affect the blood vessels. If you have Raynaud’s phenomenon, you have periods of time called “attacks” when your body does not send enough blood to the hands and/or feet, especially when it’s cold outside.
Looking at this series now one year later – having cold hands typing this – definitely gives me mixed emotions. The first picture immediately reminds me of my weird blood vessels.
