What We’ve Found: The Portrait

Wow! I mean, WOW! Over the last thirty days, we asked you to send in your best portraits. Seems easy enough right? Everyone takes portraits. Everyone appreciates portraits. But what makes a good portrait? What separates a single portrait from the millions that are taken each year? Do you have to make eye contact with the subject? Do you have to see into their soul? See who they really are inside, beyond the two-dimensional image? This month was easy for you and tough for me. I spent hours attempting to narrow down the submissions from this call for entry. What I have learned, is that I am a sucker for portraits. And that I don’t have just one preferred style. I think what makes portraits so fascinating is that there are so many different ways to take them and make them. The results speak for themselves. I hope you enjoy the curation of What We’ve Found: The Portrait!

Thank you again to all who submitted to this month’s What We’ve Found! If you like what you see, let us know! If you hate what you see, you should have submitted your portrait for consideration! What We Found is a monthly call for entry that is always FREE so you have no excuse! Keep an eye out for our next theme which will be open for submissions very soon!
