Sean Johnson is a photographer and educator based in Columbus, NE. He earned his B.F.A. in Photography and Printmaking from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2015, and is currently in school to get his teaching certification. He has been featured nationally and internationally, online, and in print. His work explores concepts of home and relationships.
slightly/pretty close
slightly/pretty close is an ongoing series I began as a means to document my everyday life. It’s a chance to show my emotions in a time where I’ve been hiding them. It’s also a chance to connect these feelings with the cultural and physical landscape around me. In these images, a new version of my surroundings is pieced together: a more honest version, where my emotions are front and center.
