What We’ve Found: Heat Wave

Hey, sorry we’re late. Our previous What We’ve Found theme proved to be unsuccessful, we didn’t receive many submissions, which is partially to be blamed on the heat wave. So, we’re gonna skip it. You know, pretend it never happened. We’re instead going to acknowledge something that is perhaps more relatable than tardiness…

We’re excited to introduce the next theme for our monthly curated web post on Aint-Bad – What We’ve Found. We’re expanding the potential to have your work recognized and admired – we’re thrilled.

So, what’s the next theme? “Heat Wave”

Remember that undeniable anticipation for summer break? The rising temperatures, the smell of sunscreen, afternoon thunderstorms, wet cement, chlorine… the feeling of a sunburned back and the sticky relief of aloe… beach days, late nights, summer flings, all that good stuff. We want to see the images that capture summer haze in the most creative ways possible.

Dig through your hardrives, archives, whatever, and submit work that you feel fits within the given theme / concept. That’s all you need to do! No artist statements, no social security numbers, tax records, etc. All we want is a nice, relevant photograph or two. Oh, and your name and website. It’s that simple!

At the end of the month, the submissions will be curated into a post with a statement and exploration of the work through the themes. Its like a little online gallery (without the wine).

We’ll let you know if you’ve made it into What We’ve Found by July 25th!
