What We’ve Found: Spirituality in Suburbia

August’s What We’ve Found theme was Spirituality in Suburbia, and I am blown away by the submissions received this time around. The work submitted offered the perfect range of interpretations to the theme. While some of the photographs are quite literal, others offer more of an air of spirituality in the way that they are composed, presence of light, and expression of the subject.

Whether the photographer was pulling from personal experiences, or working from an outsider’s perspective, these images all share a great sense of power that is so often tied to the small-town atmosphere once the distractions and aggressive modernity of city life are abandoned.

Enjoy!

Special thanks to all that submitted, and keep an eye out for next month’s What We’ve Found call for entry.
